First Photo Tour
Our tour started early in the morning. We gathered together at 6 o'clock in the morning at the arrival 2 at Zurich Airport. After a small introduction from the tour guide of Flughafen Zürich AG we got our visitor badges and a safety vest. We headed to the security check and passed it without any troubles. Afterwards we walked to the bus, which was already waiting for us at the gates. After everyone boarded the bus we drove to the Papa stands; our first stop for today.
Luck was on our side! The Airbus A350-1000, which was our main subject of the day, was delayed for around 50 minutes, so we had enough time for the whole way to the position and for some test photos before the new flagship of Cathay Pacific touched Swiss ground for the first time. The A350 taxied slowly past us. The pilots realized us and waved to us when they turned towards us.
After the first successful pictures, we headed to the bus again and moved to the gate right next to the new Airbus. On the tarmac we could do some photos with the rising sun, before we walked to the front of the "racoon". In small groups we could take photos, face to face with the A350. Then we moved to the bus again and continued to the "Pistenkreuz". A small place in the junction of the runways 16/34 and 10/28. Over there we could take some cool shots from the landing aircraft. The highlight was the Boeing 747-400 of Thai Airways which visited Zurich also on this day. Another small gem was the CS300 of SWISS in Fête des Vignerons colors.
After we stayed at this position for a moment, we took the bus again to the Papa stands, where we got the chance to get pretty close to the A350-1000, which was parked on the Papa stands now. We could take some really close shots of the flagship of Cathay Pacific and even managed to get a photo of Hainan Airlines' Dreamliner when it taxied to the Echo gates.
Unfortunately, this three hours of the tour where already past and we had to move back to the airport building where we were dropped of at the observation deck B.
From my side, respectively the side of LSPOspotter and the tour guide, we experienced a really cool tour, with many interested and happy participants! I would love to welcome you on one of my tours again.
